The objective of the energy audit is to define the current state of the former Principe Umberto Institute building complex from an energy-performance perspective and identify possible redevelopment interventions to implement and promote to increase energy efficiency, with particular attention to the relationship between intervention costs and expected benefits. The audit document is part of the design proposal relating to the restoration and conservative renovation intervention with urban regeneration and functional recovery planned for the building complex, to be dedicated to multidisciplinary research and the incubation of innovative enterprises.

The energy audit is part of the design of redevelopment and refunctionalization interventions of sites for the creation of innovation ecosystems in Southern Italy – Euro-mediterranean Center for the development of sustainable cultural heritage systems, provided for in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP).
